Wedding Ceremony Order

We understand how important it is to plan your day so everyone is happy and most of all, you are happy. We hope this helps relieve any anxiety you have about how to plan the order of your wedding ceremony. These tips assume you are planning a traditional wedding.

Wedding Party

1- Grandmother's and Grandfather's
2 - Mother of Groom, Father of Groom
3 - Mother of Bride
4 - Bridesmaid's
5 - Jr. Bridesmaid's
6 - Miniature Bride or Flower Girl By herself
or with Jr. Groomsmen or Ring Bearer
7 - Maid of Honor or Matron of Honor
8 - Father of the Bride or Escort for Bride walks
with the Bride

Tip: Order your bridesmaids by height. It makes photos so much better.

Who Walks The Groom In?

Traditionally, the groom walks in behind the minister from a side atrium (if there's a church). But you don't have to stick with tradition.

The men who are not the best men but are still standing at the front with the two of you are the groomsmen. They really don't have any duties beyond standing up there for you and your fiance, but they can double as ushers prior to the start of the ceremony (escort people to their seats) or you can designate different people for this role. Or just not have ushers at all - people can figure out where to sit.

Does Each Bridesmaid Need Paired

The bridal party does not have to be even (one groomsman for each bridesmaid)...these people should be standing up there for you because they're important in your lives - not because you want symmetry. You can always have one groomsman escort two bridesmaids or vice-versa.
